On the outskirts of Middlebury, the town of Shoreham was established in 1761. This thriving lake-shore town is halfway between Montreal and Albany, N.Y. This agricultural community of orchards and dairy farms has an increasing number of small businesses and home-based businesses emerging. Home to the "Fort Ti" Ferry, one of oldest ferries in the United States, this ferry operates between Shoreham and Ticonderoga, New York.
